I haven’t lived in a vacuum as an artist, and have actually benefited greatly from the helpful advice and encouragement of many of the artists I admire. There are many amazing artists whose work both inspires me and keeps me humble. The following list is by no means a complete list of artists whose work inspires me:
Todd Lockwood: An amazing artist who hasn't let his incredible artwork go to his head. I have had the chance to exchange emails with him on several occasions, and have always benefited from what he has had to say.
Mark Zug: Mark has done some amazing work. I particularly love the works he has done for Magic the Gathering. Mark has also been a big help and encouragement to me as I am getting things started.
Howard Lyon: I love Howard's style. If I have my facts right, he graduated from my alma matter BYU. Go cougars!
J.P. Targete: It is hard to express my admiration of JPs amazing work in sufficient terms. When he left a very posative comment on one of my pieces at Epilogue, I had to resist the urge to print it out and frame it.
Matthew Stawicki: Yet another artist whose work I absolutely love.
Don Seegmiller: Seegmiller's skill is phenomenal. He has his own unique style and personality to his work as well. He taught at BYU for some time, but I never had the privilege of taking a class from him.
John Howe: John Howe is the artist that really got me started trying to Illustrate Tolkein many years ago. Some of his Tolkien illustrations are my very favorite fantasy illustrations of all time.
Mike's Woodwork By Design: This is my brother's blog where he shares his woodworking hobby, and will do work for hire if you are interested.
