In Melanie's Words | In Danny's Words
What to say about myself? I was born on June 4th 1979 in Salt Lake City, UT. I won’t bore you with all the details of growing up in Sandy and Draper, UT. I went to school at Brigham Young University (BYU) studying computer science. Before finding Melanie, my greatest loves were painting (illustration), writing, and waterskiing. I still like all of those things as much as I used to, but I am happy to say that Melanie certainly occupies the majority of my mind and my time. She’s amazing.
Professionally, I am an interface developer. That means that I am involved often from the graphic design stages all the way through to the final creation of the visual interfaces in a wide variety of software programs. I continue to pursue my creative interests on the side. My art portfolio is available at www.staten-illustration.com. I love illustrating the fantastic and imaginative, but also enjoy doing portraits and other subjects. I grew up having Tolkien read to me as a child, so I have loved fantasy since I was too young to know any better 8). My writing generally focuses on fantasy. I have two novels that I am working on. Fortunately for me, Melanie is a good editor because I am pretty bad with commas and all that stuff.
I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Honduras from 1998 to 2000. I love the Gospel and am so grateful for all the blessings I have in my life, especially for Melanie. I love Melanie so much.
